It usually takes about five minutes to turn someone onto a good tune. First you say something like, “Hey man,” have you heard the new Anti Flag album.” They say, “No, is it any good.” You say, “Yeah, it’ rad.” Then you play your friend a sample track, better make it your best, and they either dig it or say it belongs buried in the closet. If they like it you move onto a new song, and if they don’t like it your feelings get hurt and you progress to argue with your buddy about is lack of taste.

The Five Minute Convo is an mp3 blog/podcast dedicated to the art of sharing the music that sets our hair on fire. You know, that one song you just can’t get out of your head, and have to tell a friend about. Unfortunately, I no longer have the luxury of hanging out with my pals the way I used to (work, marriage, moving far away — sort of gets in the way). But at least now I have a way of continuing the conversation — one song at time.
